CHARACTER BIOS

JOANNA (JO)

Original Player Character | The Penitent

Jo is a military veteran and former Havenworth resident. She grew up on the island, as her father was the prison community’s pastor. Her mother, one of the prison’s doctors, left the island when Jo was a child. For years, she longed to go after her, but stayed behind for her father and her best friend, Aggie, the daughter of an inmate.

Toward the end of her time on Havenworth, Jo grew restless. She wanted more from life than living on a prison island, and couldn’t shake the ghost of her mother. Additionally, her father was depressed, never quite the same after Jo’s mother left. Her best friend Aggie was perpetually anxious due to her inmate father’s increasingly erratic behavior. Jo was tired. Tired of being everyone’s pillar of support, tired of feeling like she was missing out on a bigger, better life.

Ultimately, she left everything behind, only to find out there are some things you can’t run from.

TRAYDYN TRACK

Original NPC | World of Borderlands

Traydyn is the long-lost, older half brother of Handsome Jack, the main villain of Borderlands 2. He is a collector of rare, vintage (read: obsolete) weapons, and purveyor of modern arms. Above all else, he is a man with impeccable taste–just ask him. When Traydyn was six, his father traded him to an arms dealer for a vintage rocker launcher. Traydyn hated his father for doing that, and hates Handsome Jack even more, because how come his father kept him instead?

What makes Jack so valuable? If you bring Traydyn your rarest, most vintage-y weapons, he will gladly buy them, offering you the latest, most advanced, most powerful, trendiest weapons in exchange. Traydyn would never be caught dead using something so gauche, but for someone with your gaudy taste, they’ll do just fine.

SAMPLE QUOTES

Traydyn enters your living room, surveys your design choices

“Well, it has a little charm to it. And I do mean little.”

Traydyn asks for a glass of water in a world that has little water to spare

"Water please. Purified if you have it. Distilled if you have it. From the hidden reservoir beneath the Caustic Caverns ... if you have it."

Traydyn insults a customer in his shop

“Oh, you like Hyperion? Name all their legendary machine guns that can do corrosive or incendiary elemental damage. Yeah, I didn’t think so.”

Civis Artorius

Original NPC | World of Skywind

Civis Artorius an NPC I created as part of a writer's test for Skywind, a community-led conversion mod of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Civis is the ambitious son of Guildmaster Trebonius Artorius, eager to step out of his father's shadow. Unfortunately for Civis, his father views him as immature and thus ill-prepared to take on a more significant role.

Civis remains eager to prove himself, and will do whatever it takes to gain power, even if it means going against his father and the guild's "tired" and "antiquated" rules.

If only his father would step down from his position. Perhaps you could help him find a step, say, with a gentle nudge?
