I'm Cote, a narrative designer and novelist published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux and Simon & Schuster. My debut novel was a finalist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize and won the High Plains Book Award.

I bring a storytelling sensibility to games — built on player choice, consequential dialogue, and indelible characters.

THE PENITENT

A survival horror game set on an experimental prison island where guard and inmate live side-by-side — until something goes wrong.

  • Game pitch

  • Opening cinematic

  • Quest design -> documentation

PLAYABLE GAMES

A short horror game about a woman hiding from her boyfriend in the one place no one dares to go.

simple_sabotage_cover.png

A branching Twine narrative about corporate sabotage — inspired by a real 1944 OSS field manual.

A branching dialogue game about bedtime negotiations with a seven-year-old who is wiser than she has any right to be.
